Water feature projects
Moving water, set so it looks like it was always there.
Boulder waterfalls, ponds and streams built in natural stone and planted into the yard.
What we build
Four ways to bring water into the yard.
The right feature depends on your space, the sound you want and how much upkeep you want to take on. We help you choose, then design it into the rest of the yard.
Freestanding features
Basalt columns, boulders and bubblers that fit a patio, courtyard or small corner.
Ponds and pondless waterfalls
A pond holds the water in view. A pondless waterfall sends it into a hidden basin, so you get the sound without open water.
Streams and rivers
Longer runs of moving water through stone and planting, built to follow the slope of the yard.
What clients say
Designed well. Built on time and on budget.

How it works
From first sketch to first flow.
1
Consultation
We meet on site and look at the slope, the views, where the sound will carry and how you use the yard.
2
Design and pricing
The feature goes on the landscape plan with pricing, so you see how it fits the yard before you commit.
3
Build planning
We plan the excavation, the pump, the plumbing and the power run, and handle permitting where it applies.
4
Build and start-up
We set the stone, connect the feature and run it with you before we call it done.
Why Millburn
Natural stone, set by a crew that builds the whole yard.
Built to look natural
Boulders and stone are placed so the feature reads as part of the landscape, not something dropped on top.
Planned with the yard
Lighting, planting and seating are drawn around the water, so it sits where you will see and hear it.
Our own crews
The crew that builds the feature handles the stone, grading and planting around it.
Questions
Before you reach out
What is a pondless waterfall?
Water runs over the rock into a hidden basin below and is pumped back to the top. You get the sound and movement without an open pond.
Which type is right for my yard?
Freestanding features suit small patios and courtyards. Ponds and streams need more room. We look at space, slope and what you want to see and hear, then recommend one.
What about Utah winters?
Freezing temperatures matter for pumps and plumbing, so we plan for them in the design. We go over upkeep with you at handoff.
Can you add one to a yard that is already landscaped?
Yes. We plan around what you want to keep. Access and slope affect the design, so we look at both on site.
How much does a water feature cost?
Price depends on the type, size, stone and site. We give you a price at the consultation, before any work starts.
What areas do you serve?
We work across Salt Lake, Davis, Utah and Weber Counties, from Ogden to Provo.
